Over the last few years a very strange but fantastic phenomenon has occurred. All over the world hundreds of people from all walks of life gather, armed with with nothing more than pillows and proceed to bash the daylights out of each other.
For me its one of the most enjoyable days of the year. Its just plain fun. No one gets hurts and everyone is out for a great time.
So armed with my trusty Leica Standard and Voightlander 21mm (now my all time favourite lens) I decided to jump into the midst of flying feathers and get up close to the action. Apparently there is a rule that you don’t hit someone with a camera. Not that I minded getting the odd accidental whack, but as the Standard is so small people just didn’t notice my camera. Of course this just meant I got more natural shots! I really hope these photos capture the enjoyment that is World Pillow Fight Day and encourage everyone to get involved next year!
All Photos taken with the Leica Standard / Voightlander Colour Skopar 21mm on Fomapan 400 developed in Fomadon.
If anyone recognises themselves in these photos, drop me an email and I will send you a large Tiff image.
Now, who is gonna clear up the mess ?
